Day Trip to Arusha Park

Description

With picnic lunch we drive to Arusha National Park. The park has Ngurdoto crater and the Momella lakes. The park offers a wealth of wildlife, including colobus monkeys, velvet monkeys, bushbucks, buffalos, red forest duikers, hippos, elephants, warthogs, baboons, dikdiks and giraffes. Birdlife, especially the waterfowl, is abundant and interesting. And if you’re lucky, you will see thousands of flamingos on the big Momella lake.

The park is at the base of Mount Meru, which is good for climbing. It has a range of habitats including forest – home to the black-and-white colobus monkey – and is excellent for birding.
